Wen used with a question mark, as in "Y?" is taken to mean "Why?". WHen used alone as in "Y" is taken to mean "Yes".

Y2k
Acronym for : Year 2000. Popularized in the term "Y2k bug" which was falsely expected to devastate the Internet at the stroke of midnight on December 31st 1999. Most software programs were using a two digit format for the year. i.e. 99 rather than 1999. As such, many expected the two digit format to be confused by the new century. These fears spurred a boom in the software industry as government and corporations raced to update all programs on all computer systems.
